
CAHRA: Implementing Human Rights Due Diligence in Conflict-Affected Areas
The CAHRA project was launched to tackle a critical challenge: ensuring that companies operating in conflict-affected or high-risk areas implement Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) robustly. The initiative responds directly to evolving European legislation, including the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and related regulations.
The project focuses on strengthening Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Colombia and Ukraine, transforming them into regional hubs for HRDD training and specialization. To achieve this, CAHRA will develop Train-the-Trainer programmes for university faculty, collaborative curriculum development workshops, stakeholder engagement workshops, and an open-access online platform.
The anticipated impact includes enhancing regional HRDD capacities, improving compliance with EU standards, promoting more ethical and sustainable business practices, and building resilient collaboration networks. Ultimately, CAHRA
