Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in International Law on Security, Peace, and Sustainable Development

The new Erasmus Mundus Master’s Degree in International Law on Security, Peace, and Sustainable Development (ILSPSD) aims to train the next generation of lawyers and policy makers with leadership potential in the areas of international law and global security.

Developed by six leading European universities, the two-year program offers an innovative, integrated, and multidisciplinary approach, preparing students to understand the complex political contexts and strategies necessary to promote security, peace, and sustainable development.

The course includes three mandatory mobility periods: the first semester in Lüneburg, dedicated to international law, and the second semester in Barcelona, focused on international relations in security and peace. In the third semester, students choose a specialization track at partner institutions: International Law and Security (Glasgow), International Law and Human Rights (Tartu), Security and Conflict (Brussels), or Globalization, Law, and Security (Lisbon). In the fourth semester, students develop a research dissertation, with the option of undertaking an internship and participating in prestigious international summer schools.

The ILSPSD offers multidisciplinary and transferable skills, as well as relevant practical experience, an upgrade for careers in law that require public policy formulation and a solid understanding of international relations, preparing professionals to face the challenges of an increasingly volatile and interdependent world.
