Nota biográfica

Professor Dr Jeremy Julian Sarkin teaches human rights and transitional justice in the master’s programme as well as s course on Research Methods in the Doctoral Programme at NOVA School of Law, where he is a member of CEDIS. He has law degrees from South Africa, a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School and a Doctor of Laws degree on comparative and international law. He is an attorney admitted to practice in the USA and South Africa. He was Chairperson-Rapporteur of the United Nations  Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances for three years and a member of the group for six years. He served as an acting judge in the High Court in South Africa. He has  published 19 books and more than 350 articles and bookchapters. He is a member of 20 journal editorial boards and serves on the boards of a number of civil society organisations.
