The new EU_Bank project aims to deepen knowledge of the European Union banking market and strengthen financial literacy among young people in situations of greater vulnerability. With an international team of nine experts and a duration of three years, the initiative focuses on a dynamic approach that connects academia, industry professionals and the community. In the academic sphere, the project offers a teaching module for master’s students, focusing on the fundamentals of EU banking law. The classes will be attended by industry professionals, experts and policy makers, ensuring solid training in line with the European reality. In this context, but already promoting a relationship with professionals beyond academia, EU_Bank offers a series of hybrid seminars on pressing issues in European banking law. In addition to its academic dimension, EU_Bank has a strong community focus, promoting closer ties between ordinary citizens and financial markets through initiatives that strengthen financial skills among diverse audiences, with an emphasis on training for children and young adults in institutional care. EU_Bank emerges in a context marked by successive crises, from the financial turmoil of 2007/2008 to the pandemic and the impacts of the war in Ukraine, which have exposed deep vulnerabilities and revealed the high cost of low financial literacy.
EU_Bank will conclude with a major international conference and the publication of three peer-reviewed scientific articles, consolidating knowledge and leaving a lasting mark on the European debate.
