Nota biográfica

Felipe Pathé Duarte is an assistant professor and researcher at the NOVA School of Law (where he coordinates the Ph.D. and the Master’s degree in Law and Security) and at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security, both in Lisbon. He is a senior consultant for security and geopolitical risk analysis at VisionWare, an information security private company. He is also an analyst for international security at RTP (public service broadcasting). Felipe was visiting fellow at Oxford University, and the leading US think tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, in Washington DC. He was a Fulbright fellow at the US National Security Policymaking Program of the US State Department. Felipe holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations (security and defense) from the Institute of Political Studies of the Portuguese Catholic University (2013), specializing in insurgency and political violence. Felipe also lectures at the Portuguese Institute of Higher Military Studies and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training. Felipe was a consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to Counter-Violent Extremism in Mozambique (Cabo Delgado), and the Council of Europe for social media and hybrid threats. He is working in one Campbell Collaboration systematic review, funded by the Department of Homeland Security, on “Extremist actors use of online propaganda: A systematic review of interventions to tackle English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Scandinavian language use”.

Felipe Pathé Duarte é Investigador Auxiliar e Professor na NOVA School of Law, onde coordena o Master’s Degree em Law and Security. É ainda Professor Auxiliar Convidado no Instituto de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna. É consultor sénior na VisionWare, Sistemas de Informação, SA, para as áreas de geopolítica e análise de risco. E é analista residente de assuntos de política internacional na RTP. É Doutorado e Mestre em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa, e licenciado em Filosofia pela Universidade de Coimbra. Foi “visiting fellow” na Universidade de Oxford e no Center for Strategic and International Studies, em Washington DC. Foi bolseiro Fulbright no programa US National Security Policymaking, do US State Department. É também conferencista convidado no Instituto Universitário Militar. Foi ainda consultor da Agência das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crime, para questões de combate ao extremismo violento em Moçambique, e do Conselho da Europa, sobre redes sociais e ameaças híbridas.
