Nota biográfica
Vitor Boaventura Xavier is a guest lecturer at NOVA School of law. Vitor is a Master’s of Science graduate in Regulation (MSc in Regulation), from the London School of Economics and Political Science and holds a law degree from the University of Brasilia. Vitor taught several classes and training courses on issues of regulatory law and insurance law prior to joining the school. At NOVA School of Law, Vitor lecturers on the European Union Insurance Law course, together with Professor and Dean Margarida Lima Rego. He was a Research Scholar at the International Institution for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), where he researched reinsurance contracts. He has been a researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Insurance Law (IBDS) since 2018. Vitor is part of the Study Group on Constitution, Company, and Market (GECEM), linked to the Centre on Law and Regulation (NDSR) of the University of Brasília Law School. Vitor is interested in research on the following topics: Insurance Law, Regulatory Law, Corporate Governance and Risk.
Vitor Boaventura Xavier practices civil and regulatory law, the latter focused on financial services regulation. Currently, he also voluntarily practices law on human rights, with special attention to indigenous peoples and members of social movements in Brazil.
Vitor Boaventura Xavier has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association since 2017. He is a member of the Insurance and Reinsurance Law Commission of São Paulo. Since 2018, he has been Secretary of the Working Group on State Insurance Supervision of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA).
