Márcia Tomás Pires has a strong background on Corporate Law, Tax Law and Law and Technology. She earned her bachelor's degree in law from the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, where she demonstrated good academic performance in the field of Tax Law and was selected to tutor undergraduate students in this subject. She pursued her master's degree in law and technology at Nova School of Law, where she researched and wrote her thesis on the topic of crypto-assets regulation, titled "The Regulation of Crypto-Assets: The End of Crypto-Anarchism?". She has been an active speaker on the topic of crypto-assets and blockchain technology. She was a speaker on the first RegTech event about DAOs Regulation, where she provided insights into the regulatory challenges surrounding DAOs. She has also been a guest speaker at the Nova Blockchain Club about the legal implication of crypto-assets and their regulation. Márcia Tomás has also gained valuable practical experience working as a consultant in International Tax Law at Deloitte, where she provided expert guidance to clients on complex tax issues. Currently, she is a trainee lawyer at Morais Leitão, where she is further developing her legal skills and expertise.
