On 26 January, Professor Soraya Nour Sckell was elected as the new Director of the Centre for Research on Law and Society (CEDIS) of the NOVA School of Law. Other members of the board are Professor Athina Sachoulidou and Professor Lucila de Almeida.
Soraya Nour Sckell is Full Professor at the NOVA School of Law and Researcher at the Philosophy Centre of the University of Lisbon, and Principal Investigator of the project “Cosmopolitanism: Justice, Democracy and Citizenship without Borders”.
Professor Soraya holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Paris Nanterre and the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, and a Doctorate in Law from USP-University of São Paulo.
She was a post-doctoral fellow at the Universities of Saint Louis (SLU), Nanterre, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin (Humboldt University) and has taught at the Universities of São Paulo, Munich, Metz, Lille and Lisbon.
