SPARC – Space Law Research Centre

Project Summary

The Space Law Research Centre (SPARC) is the first space law research group in Portugal. Created in the scope of the Centre for Research & Development on Law and Society (CEDIS) of the Nova University Law School, it aims to research and promote awareness on space law topics and issues and to develop a space law community in Portugal. Therefore, in addition to research, SPARC organizes several other events in this area, on a national and international scale, such as courses and workshops, contributing to the connection of the various communities related to space activities, namely legal, commercial and regulatory. SPARC is also particularly focused on writing and publishing Portuguese language texts and articles in this area, considering that this is not yet a widespread practice in Portuguese-speaking academia.
